Ramada Plaza Wuhan Tian Lu is an award-winning international 5-star hotel located in the bustling commercial center of Wuhan. Featuring 288 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, the hotel initiated a comprehensive smart room upgrade to further elevate the accommodation experience for premium business travelers. The modernization of the automated window shading system was identified as a core component of this luxurious upgrade.

The Challenges

During the retrofit process of the 5-star guest rooms, the engineering team faced three primary pain points:

• Strict Acoustic Standards: The hotel maintains uncompromising standards for the sleep environment. The operational noise of traditional curtain motors was a major concern for disrupting guest rest.

• Limited Concealed Installation Space: The existing curtain boxes in the guest rooms were compactly designed. Bulky traditional motors could not be perfectly hidden, threatening to compromise the room's luxurious aesthetic.

• RCU (Room Control Unit) Integration: The new shading system needed to seamlessly integrate with the hotel's existing central control system to enable automated scenarios such as "Card-insertion Auto-Opening" and "One-Touch Sleep Mode."

Our Solution

• Extreme Mini Body: Benefiting from its ultra-short 70mm body design, the motor perfectly hides within the narrow confines of the curtain box, achieving a seamless "heard but not seen" integration.

• Professional Engineering Connectivity: Utilizing the standard Dry Contact and RS485 interfaces equipped on the X20, the installation team effortlessly hardwired the motors directly into the hotel's RCU network.

Project Outcomes & Feedback

Upon completion, the guest rooms at Ramada Plaza achieved a highly automated and welcoming experience. When guests open the door and insert their room key card, the heavy blackout curtains smoothly and quietly draw back to reveal the vibrant cityscape. The entire operation is as quiet and natural as breathing, significantly enhancing the hotel's smart luxury appeal.
